What Happens When There's a Flight Delay?

Delays are a part of travel, and I've got a calm, simple plan for handling them that keeps your pet comfortable and you fully in the know the whole time.

Your Pet Stays With Me, Always

The moment a delay is announced, your pet stays right by my side. I never hand them off to airline staff or check them in early. Instead, I find a quiet, comfortable spot away from the busy terminal bustle and settle in until we're ready to board. I keep you and the receiving party updated via our group text on any new timing or gate changes, so nobody is left wondering what's going on.

Keeping Things Calm and Comfortable

While we wait, I keep your pet's carrier cozy and covered in busier areas to reduce stimulation. I offer small sips of water as needed, swap out potty pads in a private restroom, and use a gentle voice along with any comfort items you've sent along. Cleanliness and calm are my two biggest priorities until it's time to get moving again.

When Delays Run Longer

If the wait stretches out, I adjust accordingly. I look for quieter areas of the terminal, confirm the next leg of the journey, and if an overnight stay becomes necessary I coordinate everything directly so nothing falls through the cracks. Through all of it, your pet is never left alone and you keep receiving photos and updates at regular intervals.
